Galisteo Basin Drilling
The folks over at Drilling Santa Fe have been doing a great job of staying on top of this story.
Gov. Bill Richardson's moratorium on gas and oil drilling in the Galisteo Basin ends on July 24th. (Wow, I can't believe it's up already.) Some agencies are recommending it be extended by another 6 months, but in the meantime, Santa Fe County has been getting together the new ordinances. If you want to part of the planning, here's your chance.
They'll have 4 workshop sessions next week, with each one accomodating 100 people. They'll be held at the Santa Fe Hilton. The sessions are 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM on both Monday July 14th and Tuesday July 15th.
They'll also have brown bag information meetings those same days, same place, 12 Noon to 1 PM.
Here's the big deal: since the sessions are limited to 100 people, you must make a reservation ahead of time. To do so, call the County Attorney's Office at (505) 986-6279. If you need to leave a msg, just leave your name, number, and the session for which you want to make a reservation.
Here's your chance to be a part of the planning process.
